Job:

This is an autonomous position, with no micromanagement, being in charge of your own diary and reporting to a Commercial Manager. This role will be overseeing the commercial aspects of 3-4 simultaneous projects across Commercial, Retail, Industrial, Education, Healthcare and Local Authority sectors. This role will be office based but will involve travel across the M62 Corridor when required.

We are looking to appoint a Sub-Contractor Buyer to work within the Commercial team of a Private Residential Developer based in Leeds. This company are a market leader in their field, specialising in new build energy efficient city centre projects.

Experience Required:
  • 5 years’+ experience working within Sub-Contractor Procurement for a construction company.

  • Links to the Local Supply Chain.

  • Produce Resources Sheets from Bill of Quantities.

Job:

This role will be a hands-on position as Sub-Contractor Buyer working within the Commercial team, overseeing and managing all sub-contractor purchasing for all their Yorkshire sites. This role will include building relationships with new suppliers, negotiating with the supply-chain to get the best possible price, and working alongside Quantity Surveyors to insure delivery of agreed contracts.

  • Take ownership of the Supply Chain for all sub-contract packages of work.

  • Establish and develop business relationships with local contractors.

  • Attend and lead supplier meetings.

  • Own & maintain sub-contract schedules, agreeing dates with the project team to place orders to meet dates set.

Senior QA/QC Engineer - Uganda

My client is an International Engineering Consultancy currently working on a wide range of projects globally.

Due to securing a major healthcare project and as part of their long-term growth strategy, their most pressing requirement is for a Senior QA/QC Engineer in Uganda. The ideal candidate should have prior hospital related project experience. Responsibilities (Not limited to):

  • Review and evaluation of QA/QC documentation of main contractor, subcontractors and suppliers

  • Review and approval of contractors’ quality management plan (QMP), inspection test plan (ITPs), QC procedures

  • Ensure QA/QC system implementation by the contractor on site and the compliance within their QMP

  • Conduct internal and external audits to ISO standards

  • Oversee and approve contractors’ QA/QC personnel

  • Report to Resident Engineer (RE) and Line Manager

  • Municipality construction quality control and research for testing

  • Coordinate with site team and participate in mock up inspections

  • Performance monitoring of contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to project key performance indicators (KPIs)

Requirements:
