Assistant Buyer

Requirements

  • Have an understanding of building materials / have some kind of trade background (builders merchants background ideal)

  • A hardworking and honest individual

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines

  • Be highly organized with great attention to detail

  • Computer literate with Intermediate/Advanced MS Office skills


Key Responsibilities:

  • Taking materials orders from site contacts and placing them with local suppliers, ensuring there is a good line of communication from placement of order to arrival on site.

  • Raise PO's

  • Contact suppliers for delivery dates

  • Letting site team know if there is an issue sourcing any materials required

  • Plan own workload and support other members of the team and main office

  • Any other duties as required

  • Supplier payment authorisations

  • Mega Plant asset servicing

Senior Interior Designer (Fit-Out) - Dubai

Required to join Design and Build firm involved on various Commercial projects across the UAE.

As part of their growth strategy and due to recent project wins, they are urgently looking for a Senior Interior Designer with strong Fit-Out experience in Dubai. The individual must have worked in a similar role and have experience with Commercial Fit-Out projects. D+B experience would be preferable.

Key Activities (but not limited to):

  • Lead project teams to develop design solutions for delegated interior projects

  • Develop design concepts and prepare with the project team documentation for tenders and construction

  • Assist with planning the project and junior designer work flow

  • Monitor, train and supervise junior designers to provide good design and standard detailing

  • Liaise with supervisor with regards to management and performance of junior designer

  • Attend coordination meetings with regards to all design matters

Key Requirements:
  • Degree educated - Bachelor of Architecture or Interior Design

  • Minimum 8 years experience

  • Experience working on Fit Out projects (Offices, Retail, F+B)

The role will be to undertake both estimating and quantity surveying duties, working alongside the Commercial Manager. Responsibilities include: Review/prepare tender documents, including take offs and BOQ’s Producing accurate tender packages Price and procurement negotiations/variations Managing subcontractor accounts Producing cost reports, quotes and raising purchase orders An individual with experience working on pre contract phase would be preferred, as the role would involve more Estimator related duties. Previous experience in a similar position with experience working upon stone, tiling, cladding or fit out projects will be looked upon favourably
