You will be working with the Commercial team and you will be responsible for managing contracts’ finances and budgets as well as the procurement and management of sub-contractors and materials in order to produce relevant procurement schedules.

You will have a multiple active sites at any one time and will be responsible for projects across the East and West Midlands You will be responsible for maintaining client relationships and ensuring that repeat business is obtained.


• You must have a proven track record in New Build Construction across Retail, Commercial, Industrial and Educational sectors managing multiple sites and projects to the value of £5M.

• Leadership, strong interpersonal credibility and the ability to interact with and be mindful of clients’ needs are essential

• Manage projects, timelines, quality and costs of the fit out

• Responsibility for the successful implementation of projects, timelines critical milestones, quality and costs, including the production of purchase orders

• Ensure all Health and Safety guidelines are adhered to at all times

• A minimum if 5-10 years’ experience is essential

• Knowledge of design and build projects is essential

 hold a valid driving licence

 be fully IT literate in word and excel (at advanced level)

 hold previous line management experience (able to demonstrate all aspects of senior management experience)

Due to significant projects being secured they are actively looking to expand their Design team and appoint a Design and Build Manager to join their successful organisation.

Responsibilities

Responsible for co-ordinating and managing the timely flow of design information at all stages of the project including both Pre-construction and Construction stages.


Assist with the preparation of Pre-qualification Questionnaires and attend Client interviews as necessary.


Assist at the bidding stage, by scrutinising Employers Requirements, identify areas of risk, select Designers (if not novated), agree fees and scope of services, look at alternative designs, analyse and understand M&E design, scrutinise subcontract quotations, Prepare Contractor Proposals, assist with Quality submission documents, produce sketch designs (if necessary) and attend Client interviews.


With successful tendered projects, appoint the design team in conjunction with the Bid Director.


Manage the design team including chairing design team meetings, co-ordinate information flow and distribute as appropriate.


Close out any Building Control issues and Planning conditions.


Assist with the interviewing and selection of key subcontractors, in conjunction with the other project team members.


Co-ordinate the Mechanical & Electrical installation and its overall integration within the building design.


Ensure that design solutions do not fall below (or exceed too far beyond) the agreed design criteria (ERs & CPs).


Look at Value Management/Value Engineering.


Look at Sustainability issues including BREEAM assessments.


Assist with technical query sheets.


Assist with the handover process, with the provision of manuals and on site demonstrations.


Assist with the production of ‘As built’ information.


Assist with any ‘Aftercare’ issues.


Assist with any Partnership or Framework support roles (i.e. working groups).


Set up and manage a library of technical reference information.


Develop and manage design software packages such as AutoCAD and BIM systems.


Carry out internal training on Design technical matters, including changes to any legislation.


General contract support and advice on technical matters


Carry out regular contacts with allocated CRM personnel and report information to the Marketing department.


Carry out other duties that the Company reasonably requests.
